Restore Your Smile with Dental Bridges
The absence of even one tooth can interfere with your ability to eat, speak, and smile with ease and confidence. If you are looking for an experienced dental office to restore your missing tooth or teeth, the doctors at Shemen Dental Group offer traditional and implant-supported dental bridges. Our team has served the Amarillo, TX, community since 1987. We dedicate ourselves to ensuring the dental health of every patient.
Benefits of Dental Bridges
Many patients seek dental bridges for aesthetic reasons. Besides filling in the gaps in your smile, a bridge can help your cheeks look fuller and more youthful. Furthermore, we customize the prosthetics to match the appearance of your natural teeth. This is so that most people will not be able to tell that you are missing a tooth at all.
Anchoring your bridge with dental implants adds additional benefits. These metal posts replace tooth roots and can provide additional stability. Many of our patients report that prosthetics that use dental implants feel and function like natural teeth. As an added bonus, implant placement can prevent jawbone recession, a common side effect of missing teeth.
Restored oral function
Improved clarity of speech
Great balance in your bite
Prevention of teeth shifting
How Do Dental Bridges Work?
The length of your treatment timeline will vary depending on whether you are receiving a traditional or implant-retained dental bridge. For either procedure, our Amarillo office offers nitrous oxide and oral sedation options to help you stay relaxed during the treatment.

Am I a Candidate?
Most patients who are missing one to three consecutive teeth are good candidates for a dental bridge. If you are missing more than this, a partial or full denture may better suit your needs. To receive a traditional bridge, you will need healthy teeth on either side of the gap in your smile. These teeth will support the bridge through the use of two dental crowns on either side of the prosthetic. If you are seeking dental implants, one of our doctors will need to establish if you have adequate jawbone density to receive implants. If you do not, a bone graft or sinus lift surgery can be scheduled to restore your candidacy.
